INSIDE
Accommodation at Villa Galapagos is spread over two floors.
The main entrance takes one into an airy and generously proportioned entranceway, from which the rest of the accommodation flows. Immediately to the left, the twin bedroom, and in front, the main downstairs bedroom – a king with a wood-beamed ceiling, antique furniture pieces, and French doors leading directly out to the pool terrace and bringing in those mesmerising sea views. A contemporary bathroom with walk-in shower is shared by the two downstairs bedrooms, and completes the accommodation on the ground floor.
Following the entranceway around to the left, it opens into the comfortable open-plan living and dining area with flagstone flooring, a traditional fireplace, and a pair of French doors leading out onto the pool terrace overlooking the sea. Tucked behind the dining area is the well-equipped kitchen, next to which is access to the al-fresco dining terrace and barbecue area.
Stairs lead up from the main entranceway to an upper landing area, from which the remaining two bedrooms and the guest WC and laundry room are accessed. Both upstairs bedrooms are light, airy suites with king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms, unique historical furnishings, and each with its own private seaview terrace looking over the pool.
OUTSIDE
The stone-paved pool area wraps around the property and boasts panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and Hvar’s southern coastline, including the iconic Pokonji Dol islet directly in front. The heatable pool makes bathing possible even in the off-season months.
To one side of the house is the bar and al fresco dining area, which contains both a gas barbecue and a traditional wood-fired barbecue, and is conveniently accessed from the side entrance of the house near the indoor kitchen. And just in front, the shaded stone pergola area is where you may well end up spending most of your waking hours. A dreamy spot, with palms and pines swaying gently in the breeze, and sea views that will stay with you long after you return home.
The well-thought-out design of Galapagos means that the bedrooms on the first floor both have their own private balconies where guests can read, relax, and drink in the wonderful panoramas. Meanwhile, the main ground floor bedroom steps directly out onto the pool terrace.

The Area
Villa Galapagos sits in an uber-panoramic position one kilometre east of Hvar Town's historic core, whose Venetian architecture, labyrinth of pretty streets and excellent range of shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife are well worth exploring.
Hvar Town stands as the beating heart of Croatia’s sunniest island, a fortified harbour settlement where Renaissance palaces and marble-paved squares rise straight from the water’s edge. Centred around one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Dalmatia, the town is dominated by the imposing cathedral of St. Stephen and overlooked by the hilltop fortress that offers sweeping views across the harbour and the Pakleni Islands beyond. Narrow stone streets lined with Venetian architecture, boutique shops, and inviting cafés lead down to the palm-fringed waterfront, where superyachts moor alongside traditional fishing boats, and the daily bustle of locals and visitors creates an infectious energy that lasts from morning market to late-night cocktails.
Beyond the historic core, Hvar Town serves as the perfect base for exploring the island’s natural and culinary highlights. Excellent restaurants range from sophisticated waterfront dining to family-run konobas serving fresh seafood and local wine, while the surrounding coastline offers secluded coves, pebble beaches, and crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming and boating. Regular ferry services and water taxis make arriving here from Split and day trips to the Pakleni archipelago effortless, and the town’s calendar is packed with cultural events, from classical concerts in ancient cloisters to the renowned summer festival scene. Well-connected yet never overwhelmed, this compact town holds more history, culture, and waterfront glamour per metre than almost anywhere else in the Adriatic.
