Our Story
Created and run by foreigners turned locals
Hvar Away founders Elisha and Matt moved to Hvar in 2020, having visited the island only once before. The pandemic motivated them to take a leap of faith, bidding farewell to the UK in pursuit of building a new life in Croatia.
Having escaped from medical studies at Oxford University and subsequently a world traveller, Elisha heads up operations and guest services. Originally from Poland, Matt is a multi-skilled tradesman, former strongman coach, and fast gathered a reputation as the island’s own superhero.
They soon realised that together, with complementary skillsets and an international perspective, they could lay the foundations of something truly special. Their idea was to create more than just a travel agency; instead, to curate a collection of special properties and experiences that would allow others to discover the true magic of this small island.

Several of our properties are exclusively available through us, meaning we hold the key to some of the island’s most coveted and iconic stays.

As expats living here since 2020, we know every corner of Hvar and our villas inside and out. Our co-founder Matt (a multi-skilled tradesman) personally oversees all villa maintenance, so any issues can be swiftly resolved without delay. We’re completely committed to ensuring your clients enjoy a worry-free stay.

Use our live chat or give us a call. Most villas also offer 24/7 instant online booking, so you can secure the perfect place for your client the moment you find it, wherever you are in the world.
And when it comes to Hvar, we we already know (and work directly with) all the best people. Skip the research and coordination with outside suppliers, we take care of everything for you and your clients.
How We Work Together
We offer our contracted travel partners a 5% commission on the rental price of all our villas, provided we haven’t already been in direct contact with the clients.
Contact UsPlease send:
- To make a booking, you can use our website to either book instantly or submit a villa request. Alternatively, contact us and we will help you find the perfect villa for your clients.
- For all villas, a 30% deposit is required to secure the booking, and the remaining balance is due 60 days before the check-in date.
- Once the booking is confirmed, we’ll assist with travel logistics and arranging any additional services or Experiences. You can coordinate these with us directly, or introduce us to your clients at this stage.
- Please note that commission is not offered on extra services or Experiences unless agreed otherwise.
- Services and activities organised at the villa may only be organised through Hvar Away. Third-party vendors are only allowed with written confirmation from a member of our team.
- To obtain your commission, please prepare an invoice addressed to Hvar Away with your bank details and email it to us. Your commission will be paid within 7 days after your client’s stay has been completed.
- If your application to become a Hvar Away affiliate is approved, you'll receive login access to our affiliate dashboard, along with a unique referral link to use on your website(s), blog posts, social media, and more.
- When a user visits our site using your affiliate referral link, data is stored locally on their browser that allows us to identify your link as the source of the referral. If they later book a villa instantly or submit a villa request, we match it back to your link so you get credit for the referral.
- You will always be able to monitor your referral link clicks and conversions via the affiliate program dashboard.
- Your commission will be paid via an automated PayPal payment within 7 days after the guest’s stay has been completed.
- Please note that commission is not offered on extra services or Experiences unless agreed otherwise.
