INSIDE
Accommodation at Villa Atropos is laid out over three floors.
The main entrance to the property is accessed via a flight of stairs that leads from the gated driveway at street level to the upper ground floor. This level is entirely given over to a luminous free-flowing, open-plan communal space that is characterised by a palette of muted natural colours, and provides a minimalistic backdrop for quality fittings, furnishings, and fixtures. Ceramics, artwork, and soft furnishings offer splashes of colour and texture, and the atmosphere is at once welcoming, familiar, and serene. One feels immediately at ease and at home at Atropos.
A wall of south-facing windows in the living area drinks in the views out to sea, and the space features a fireplace, a comfortable rounded sofa surrounding a collection of rattan coffee tables, and a telescope for those clear, starry evenings.
To the right is the well-equipped, well-organised kitchen, with its natural wooden cabinetry, its sleek white worktops, and its central dining island with space for six. A sliding door conveniently opens out from the kitchen onto the rear al fresco dining terrace.
An internal staircase on this level provides access to both the first floor above and the lower ground floor below.
The first floor is home to:
• the master bedroom, with a king-size bed, superb sea views, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub; and
• another sea-view king bedroom, with a large desk, and served by a bathroom just across the hallway with a walk-in shower.
Accommodation at Atropos is completed by the independent suite on the lower ground floor. This suite features a king bed which can also be prepared as two twin beds, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with walk-in shower. A pair of French doors opens out from the bedroom onto a private sea-facing terrace furnished with lounge seating, an outdoor sink, and access to the front garden where a hammock awaits. An external staircase leads up from here to the main dining terrace directly above. These French doors can be used as a separate entrance for guests staying in this lower part of the villa.
OUTSIDE
Terraces and gardens wrap around the front and sides of Atropos, and there are numerous spots in which to while away the days, laze in the shade, dine al fresco, and generally commune with your gorgeous surroundings.
Next to the main entrance on the upper ground floor is home to the gorgeous 10m2 urban pool with hydromassage jets, with stunning views out over the Adriatic. Served by two loungers, two pool chairs, and an outdoor shower, this terrace is a great spot in which to soak up the sun during the day.
The main al fresco dining terrace flows on the other side of the house and is accessed from the kitchen. This sea-view space is furnished with a cushioned bench wrapping around a rounded hardwood dining table for six. Sheltered by a wooden pergola with bamboo shades, and served by an electric barbecue, this is a fabulous option for grilling up long dinners under the stars.
Steps lead down from this terrace to the ground floor immediately below, where there are even more al fresco pleasures on offer with lounge seating and a hammock. This space is also accessed directly from the lower ground floor bedroom below.
Around the terraces and lining the front of the villa, aromatic plants perfume the air, Mediterranean shrubbery abounds, and leafy trees whisper in the gentle sea breeze.
As if all this weren’t enough, Atropos has yet more magic up its sleeve: immediately across the street in front of the house, large rocks give way to the transparent waters of the Adriatic. If you’re craving a more lively beach scene, a short walk (under 15 minutes) along the coastal road leads to the renowned Pokonji Dol beach – the perfect spot for soaking up the ultimate Mediterranean reverie.

- Villa Atropos is not suitable for children from 1-9 years old due to the stairways and elevation of the terraces with some unfenced parts, and the low-sitting upper floor windows. Infants up to one year are permitted and do not count towards the overall capacity of the villa.
- While the current photos of the first-floor second bedroom show the bed arranged as two opposing twin beds, this will be replaced with a standard king-size bed for the 2026 season.
- While the villa has direct sea access immediately in front, the closest beaches are easy strolls (8+ minutes) along the coast.
- The pool is not heated, therefore may be extremely refreshing before and after the summer.
- As with all residential areas on Hvar Island, quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. No music is to be played outside during these hours.
- Note that construction noise is illegal in this region of Croatia from 12th May – 6th October. If you book outside of this time, there is the possibility of construction noise impacting your stay.
- Restaurants and other establishments mentioned are subject to seasonal availability. Opening and closing dates are determined by the businesses themselves and may vary. Some venues may be closed outside the peak summer season.
The Area
Villa Atropos sits in a privileged south-facing position, a pleasant 15-minute coastal stroll from the heart of Hvar Town.
Hvar Town stands as the beating heart of Croatia’s sunniest island, a fortified harbour settlement where Renaissance palaces and marble-paved squares rise straight from the water’s edge. Centred around one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Dalmatia, the town is dominated by the imposing cathedral of St. Stephen and overlooked by the hilltop fortress that offers sweeping views across the harbour and the Pakleni Islands beyond. Narrow stone streets lined with Venetian architecture, boutique shops, and inviting cafés lead down to the palm-fringed waterfront, where superyachts moor alongside traditional fishing boats, and the daily bustle of locals and visitors creates an infectious energy that lasts from morning market to late-night cocktails.
Beyond the historic core, Hvar Town serves as the perfect base for exploring the island’s natural and culinary highlights. Excellent restaurants range from sophisticated waterfront dining to family-run konobas serving fresh seafood and local wine, while the surrounding coastline offers secluded coves, pebble beaches, and crystal-clear waters ideal for swimming and boating. Regular ferry services and water taxis make arriving here from Split and day trips to the Pakleni archipelago effortless, and the town’s calendar is packed with cultural events, from classical concerts in ancient cloisters to the renowned summer festival scene. Well-connected yet never overwhelmed, this compact town holds more history, culture, and waterfront glamour per metre than almost anywhere else in the Adriatic.
