Situated just below the near-vertical limestone towers that shield the island's south side, the vineyards that create these special wines are exposed to direct sunlight and sea reflection, which influences the grapes to create a powerful taste. Cliffbase’s unique vineyards produce pure, organic wines without chemicals or irrigation.

Meet the winemaker
Miro Plavac, whose self-assumed last name reflects his deep passion for Hvar’s wine, arrived on the island 15 years ago. An avid climber, he quickly fell for Hvar’s beauty and embarked on thrilling adventures, including the extraordinary feat of skiing from the island’s peak to Dubovica Bay during the 2014 snowstorm.
His love for Plavac Mali was so intense that he decided to purchase a vineyard and craft his own wine. His dedication paid off, as his Plavac Mali outshone all others in a blind tasting.
Don’t miss the Plavac Mirko, a rare, naturally fermented wine aged three years in Slavonian oak barrels.

- Cliffbase Cave is located just east of Sveta Nedjelja marina. For the able-bodied and adventurous, it is possible to walk a trail for 10-15 minutes along the shoreline, although the last 5 minutes is particularly tough. Alternatively, take a water taxi from Sveta Nedjelja marina. Please contact us for more information.
Terms
For bookings of this Experience made more than 60 days in advance of your arrival date at your villa, the following conditions apply:
- A booking deposit of 50% of the total booking price (including all fees and taxes) is due for payment at the time of reservation.
- The remaining balance payment of 50% of the total booking price (including all fees and taxes) is due for payment no later than 60 days before your arrival date at your villa.
For bookings of this Experience made 60 days or less in advance of your arrival date at your villa, the following conditions apply:
- Payment of 100% of the total booking price (including all fees and taxes) is due for payment at the time of reservation.
