Join Jana for a truly special and soul-soothing adventure at Paws, Hooves & Hearts, a dedicated animal rescue sanctuary in the peaceful village of Dol on Hvar Island. Here, rescued donkeys live in a loving home after years of hardship, and you’re invited to share gentle, unhurried time with them.
Jana personally accompanies each experience, sharing her deep love for these rescued animals. Whether you’re strolling at their pace or simply soaking up their peaceful presence, she’ll be there to ensure every moment is safe and relaxed.
- Villa Stroll – Take a relaxed walk through the charming small village of Dol, strolling at the donkeys’ easy pace. Stop whenever they choose to pause, graze, or simply enjoy the moment. Wander quiet paths around the village or into nearby woods, breathing in the fresh island air.
- The 2 Dol Walk – Explore both sides of Dol – St. Marija and St. Ana – on a slightly brisker but still gentle walk. Connect the two picturesque halves of the village with optional stops along the way. Enjoy the scenic views and the company of your four-legged friends as you move between these lovely connected hamlets.
- Hilltop & Island Adventures – Venture higher into the hills for a longer, more immersive walk. Choose your route: meander around the rolling hills or go all the way to the top of the island for breathtaking panoramic views. These walks offer a deeper immersion in Hvar’s wild, natural beauty.
- Field Time & Grooming – Prefer to stay close? Simply hang out in the donkeys’ field! Spend quality time grooming them, offering gentle scratches, or just sitting and watching their calm, endearing personalities unfold.

At Paws, Hooves & Hearts, everyone’s wellbeing comes first. To ensure everyone – human and donkey alike – has a safe, peaceful, and joyful time:
- Please always treat the donkeys with gentleness and respect. No shouting, loud noises, running, or sudden movements – these sensitive souls thrive on calm energy.
- Follow Jana’s guidance at all times; she knows each donkey’s personality and needs best.
- A simple liability waiver is required before participating.

Your support directly helps care for our rescued donkeys, cats, dogs, pony, and more. Thank you for choosing to give back.
- The full charitable donation is kindly requested at the time of booking to secure your spot.
- Every euro you contribute goes 100% to the sanctuary’s care and operations (after unavoidable card processing fees). There are no admin costs, your generosity reaches the animals directly.
- If plans change, we’re happy to process a full refund upon cancellation. Just let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone else waiting to meet the donkeys.
